Great points! I think it’s equally as important to note that, not only does participation influence design change, but also that design can influence change in participation.
I completely agree with the service industry commentary. However, to play devil’s advocate, does this necessarily work as well in segments of our lives where we don’t necessarily expect or desire that level of involvement in our service (e.g. waste management, DMV)? Or do we so completely disregard the possibilities of service interaction in specific instances like that?
